Godzilla is out to destroy the box office. The feature film will stars Bryan Cranston, Ken Watanabe, Elizabeth Olsen and Aaron Taylor-Johnson, has already made $38.5 million on Friday at the box office.
Predictions are putting the film close to making $98 million at the North American box office which would be the best opening for a film so far this year.
The monster thriller has already made 9.3 million from late night showings on Thursday night.

If the Gareth Edwards film reaches $98 million, it will pass the $95 million debut of Captain America: The Winter Soldier and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 which made $91.6 million during its opening weekend.
Godzilla opened in over 60 international markets this weekend, as well.
The Guardian reported that this updated version of the monster film was made on a $160 million budget.
Director Gareth Edwards has said in many interviews that this goal with the project was to remain true to the iconic Japanese Godzilla movies made by Japan's Toho studio.
