Helena Bonham Carter is revealing she once drunkenly asked Prince William, now the Duke of Cambridge, to be one of her children’s godfather.

While at the Windsor Castle charity dinner this week, the Sweeney Todd actress, 47, said he “quite wisely” declined her request.

“I got very drunk at one point, and I was determined to ask him to be a godfather to my daughter. He quite wisely said 'no,' " she explained, People reports.

Bonham Carter also complimented Prince William by saying, "I admire him. He has got the same grace as both his parents."

She even revealed a similar encounter occurred with the royal when she ran into he and his then-girlfriend Kate Middleton on vacation in the Caribbean. Bonham Carter said she jokingly proposed to him.

While she was smitten with the Duke of Cambridge, Daily Mail reports his wife, the Duchess of Cambridge, angered Ralph Lauren by pulling out of the charity event this week.

“He considered pulling out but was told by his PR advisers that it would look terrible. The company thought they were getting Kate, the most famous clothes horse in the world, and also a runway show at the castle,” said an insider.
