If I Had Lunch With C.S. Lewis is a book by Alister McGrath that explores the ideas of C.S. Lewis on the Meaning of Life. Mr. McGrath takes the reader on a journey into the life of C.S. Lewis and explains the Literary Great behind the “curtain” as it were. Through various lunches we are taken on the path of Lewis’ life; the people he befriends, the things he thinks, studies and how he processes his world. Reading the title one may think that this book would be full of light conversation and a few personal antidotes. What the reader finds will truly delight the mind. We are lead on a riveting walkway of Lewis personal challenges and his inner most thoughts.
I have even more respect for Lewis after reading McGraths book than I did before. Also, quite pleased with Alister McGrath in putting his idea to paper. There is tremendous merit in reading this book and passing it on; it’s full of wisdom and insight. C.S. Lewis had a great mind and one that only seems to come along very seldom, this book gives one a window into his personal life. Enjoy!
