With a Spring Breakers sequel on the way, James Franco speaks in complete rebellion on why there is no way there should be another one.
According to ABC News, James Franco took to Instagram to express his disgruntled disapproval of the filming of a Spring Breakers Sequel.
Yesterday on Instagram Franco posted: "STATEMENT ABOUT SPRING BREAKERS 2: This is not being done with Harmony Korine or my consent."
"The original was wholly Harmony's creation and these producers are capitalizing on that innovative film to make money on a weak sequel. I want everyone to know that whoever is involved in the sequel is jumping on board a poison ship."
When it was first announced that there would be another Spring Breakers in production he posted an actual video saying: ""BTW F*** that [Spring Breakers] 2 BS, they're doing it without HARMONY's CONSENT. Sounds LAME AS A MUTHA!"
Franco was very unedited in his words of the production of the film. He shared his own take on how the quality of the movie will be:
"It will be a terrible film, with a horrible reason d'être: to make money off someone else's creativity," he wrote. "Can you imagine someone making the sequel to 'Taxi Driver' without Scorcese and DeNiro's consents? Insanity! I'm speaking up for Harmony and his original vision and for any creative person who cares about preserving artistic integrity."
According to The New york Daily News, Wild Bunch, who is the production company of the film explained that it is in fact not a direct sequel of the movie. It is more so like a spin off. With all words aside, Franco does not care and is mad that it is being made at all.
