Beyonce and Jay Z created one of the most memorable moments on the red carpet of the Met Gala on Monday night, with the “Tom Ford” rapper staging a mock proposal when his “XO” singer wife dropped her ring.
The “Drunk in Love” collaborators both wore Givenchy Haute Couture at the annual event, with Beyonce wearing jewelry by Lorraine Schwartz. When one of her rings slipped off her finger and dropped on to the red carpet, her husband picked it up for her and crouched down as if he was proposing before placing it on her finger.
E! Online notes Beyonce and Jay Z have been married for six years, tying the knot in April 2008. They share a 2-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy Carter.
Beyonce took to Instagram to show off photos from the night, posing with her sister Solange, as well as Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o.
