Jennifer Lawrence said in a new interview that she didn’t really plan on tripping at the Oscars two years in a row. There was some speculation that she may have tripped at the red carpet in March on purpose, but she said that’s not the case.

While speaking with Marie Claire, the American Hustle star said that she understood that some - including Jared Leto - may have thought she did it on purpose. She insists that if she had planned it, she would have picked a lower-key venue.
“I'm trying to do the right thing, waving to the fans, trying to be nice, and there's a traffic cone,” Lawrence said. “The second I hit it, I was laughing, but on the inside I was like, 'You're f**ked. They're totally going to think this is an act.’”
But if she did plan it, “I would have done it at the Golden Globes or the SAGs. I would have never done it at two Oscars in a row. I watch Homeland—I'm craftier than that!”
Also in the interview, the Hunger Games star said that she does not want to “constantly be a GIF.” She also revealed that she voted for her rival at this year’s ceremony, 12 Years A Slave’s Lupita Nyong’o. Lawrence was also up for the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her performance in Hustle, but lost to Nyong’o.
