John Krasinski, who is known for his work on The Office, is set to star in and direct the upcoming film, The Hollars.

Deadline reported that Krasinski will be playing the lead in the film opposite Anna Kendrick. Krasinski will be playing, John Hollar, who is an aspiring NYC artist who goes with his girlfriend to Middle America on the night prior to his mother's brain surgery. This trip forces Hollar to face his past which includes dealing with his high school friends, his father and his overall dysfunctional family.

Kendrick will be playing the role of the girlfriend in The Hollars and the mother will be played by Margo Martindale.

The movie is being produced by Krasinski’s Sunday Night banner and the movie has been written by James C. Strouse.

No release date has been announced for the film.

Entertainment Weekly reported that this will be his second time in the directors chair. Krasinski also directed 2009′s Brief Interviews with Hideous Men.
