Katy Perry has become the first global cover girl of Cosmopolitan magazine. Her July 2014 cover will be sold everywhere in the world that the publication is offered.
The Cosmopolitan cover girl, who has 53 million Twitter followers, told her young fans in a message, “If you’re secretly reading the mag and not really allowed to, don’t worry, I did it too."
Cosmo Editor-In-Chief Joanna Coles explained why they chose the “Dark Horse” singer as their first-ever global cover, explaining her “music and attitude have universal appeal to young women everywhere.”
Huffington Post reports Coles continued to say, “She crosses all cultural boundaries. Her music is soulful and empowering in equal measure. She’s the first Cosmo global icon.”
Chelsea Handler interviewed Perry for the issue, so fans can expect some revealing tidbits about her. Topics they will cover will be her status with ex-boyfriend John Mayer, ex-husband Russell Brand and which type of alcohol she will never drink again.
The July 2014 issue will hit newsstands next month.
