During an interview with Jimmy Kimmel, NBA superstar Kobe Bryant said that he's not allowed to buy the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Hollywood Reporter reports how Bryant appeared on Kimmel's late night talk show on May 8, and told Kimmel that the NBA wouldn't approve of him buying the Clippers. Kimmel brought up the subject due to current Clippers owner Donald Sterling receiving a lifetime ban from the NBA and also a fine of $2.5 million. Bryant stated, "No. ... I know that's not a possibility as terms of brand appreciation goes."

Aside from Bryant, many other celebrities have come out an expressed interest in buying the Clippers. Big names such as Floyd Mayweather Jr., Sean 'Diddy' Combs, Rick Ross and David Geffen have all publicly stated they would like to buy the team from Sterling.

However, Sterling's wife Shelly, who co-owns the Clippers alongside her husband has no intention of giving up her ownership of the team. Mrs. Sterling's lawyer Pierce O'Donnell states, "She has a voluntary property right, and she won't submit to an involuntary disposition of the team."
