Viewers really connected with actress Sarah Baker’s soliloquy at the end of Louie’s "So Did the Fat Lady" episode, which was the finale of comedian Louis C.K.’s FX show.
Louis C.K., who writes, directs and stars in the show, is seen on the receiving end of Baker’s character Vanessa’s speech about being a “fat girl” in today’s world.
"Try dating in New York in your early 30s as a fat girl,” she tells him, adding, “I'm not even supposed to do this … Tell anyone how bad it sucks because it's too much for people. I mean, you? You can talk into a microphone and say you can't get a date, you're overweight. And it's adorable. But if I say it, they call the suicide hotline on me.”
USA Today reports Vanessa also says during the over 7-minute monologue that it’s “just not in the cards” for heavier women to feel attractive, loved or have guys chase after them.
Baker spoke to Vulture about the speech, calling it “so brave and really beautiful.”
Twitter has been inundated with comments applauding both Baker’s performance and the emotional moment as a whole since the episode aired.
The Fat Girl segment on Louie proves why comedy is so vital to a scared society. I love them for this: https://t.co/jxeamOQ2ph

As a fat girl, I love and also hate the "fat girl" scene from Louie. Love it because it's true, and hate it because it's true, too.
