Nancy Silverton took the top award at the James Beard Foundation restaurant awards on Monday evening.

Silverton is the founder of Pizzeria Mozza and Osteria Mozza. She won the top prize, Outstanding Chef, the Beard Awards’ most prestigious chefs’ honor. Silverton took the top prize over Suzanne Goin of Lucques, who had been nominated for Outstanding Chef previously, according to the LA Times.

Other winners included former Spago chef, Sherry Yard. Regional Chefs included Dave Beran of Next in Chicago. Other chefs awarded included Vikram Sunderam of Rasika in Washington, DC. Justin Aprahamian of Sanford in Milwaukee won for New York City. April Bloomfield of The Spotted Pig won in the Northeast, as did Jamie Bissonnette of Coppa in Boston, according to the Associated Press.

Other awards were given for James Beard Foundation America’s Classics. The awards went to Hansen's Sno-Bliz in New Orleans, and Nick's Italian Cafe in McMinnville, Oregon, and Olneyville New York System in Providence, Rhode Island. Finally, the James Beard Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award went to Sirio Maccioni of Le Cirque in New York City.
