Michael Carter-Williams, the 2014 NBA Rookie of the Year, headlined the 10 first-year players selected to the NBA All-Rookie teams. Carter-Williams, a guard on the Philadelphia 76ers, was the only unanimous selection to the First Team.
He was joined on the First Team by Victor Oladipo (Orlando Magic), Trey Burke (Utah Jazz), Mason Plumlee (Brooklyn Nets) and Tim Hardaway Jr. (New York Knicks).
Carter-Williams averaged 16.7 points, 6.3 assists and 6.2 rebounds per game. He is the third rookie in NBA history to post 16 points, 6 assists and 6 boards per contest, joining Hall-of-Famers Oscar Robertson and Magic Johnson, according to nba.com.
Oladipo, who was one vote away from being a unanimous First Teamer, was second in rookie scoring with 13.8 points per game. He also recorded 1.6 steals per contest.
Burke, who had the third-highest scoring average among rookies (12.8), led all first-year players with a 3.02 assist-to-turnover ratio and was second in assists with 5.7 per contest.
Plumlee, who played significant minutes filling in for the injured Brook Lopez, averaged 7.4 points per game and 4.4 rebounds per contest. He is the only All-Rookie First Team member to reach the playoffs this season.
Hardaway Jr. posted averaged 10.2 points per game and ranked fourth among rookies in 3-point field goal shooting percentage (36 percent), according to ESPN.com.
The Second Team consisted of Kelly Olynyk (Boston Celtics), Giannis Antetokounmpo (Milwaukee Bucks), Gorgui Dieng (Minnesota Timberwolves), Cody Zeller (Charlotte Bobcats) and Steven Adams (Oklahoma City Thunder).
The All-Rookie teams were selected by a group of 125 American and Canadian sportswriters and broadcasters.
