NBC continues to drop the axe on shows and cancelled midseason dramas Believe and Crisis.
The cancellation news was reported by Deadline, but it wasn't surprising given how weak the two dramas performed since their premieres. Neither show got off to a hot start in the ratings and both barely kept their heads above water, with the most recent episodes averaging only a 1.0 in the key 18-49 demographic, which is nearly identical to their early April fast ratings.
Crisis and Believe join Community and Revolution on the NBC cancelled stack. Community managed to survive five seasons, but after another season where the show averaged a similar 1.0 in fast returns - a 1.6 with DVR numbers - apparently was too much.
Revolution managed two seasons, but the writing was on the wall when fast returns ratings for the most recent episode hit a series low of 1.1 in the demo.
On the brighter side of NBC news, the network did decide to renew Hannibal and About a Boy, with the former being a somewhat surprise choice due to similarly low ratings, but the show is critically adored, which might have helped somewhat.
