As the 2013-14 television season closes out, NBC topped all other networks in the key demo for the first time in a decade.

For the season, the network averaged a 2.7 rating in the advertiser-important 18-49 demographic, which is a 13 percent increase over the previous year, reports Deadline. NBC managed a decent year, even if Winter Olympics coverage wasn't included. The next closest among the Big 4 networks is Fox, which averaged a 2.5 rating and CBS is right behind with a 2.4 demo rating. ABC brought up the rear with a 2.1 rating in the 18-49 demo.

CBS fell the most among the other three networks, with a 17 percent drop. The network went from first to third in just a season. Still despite placing third in the key demo, the Eye network was still the most-watched overall network with 10.733 million viewers. NBC follows behind with a second-place 9.279 million viewers.

According to Variety, a lot of NBC's success can be placed on the backs of Sunday Night Football, The Voice and newcomer The Blacklist. SFL was the most-watched program in the 18-49 demo, with The Voice No. 2 among entertainment series.

The Blacklist really helped the network on Monday nights, boosting NBC 39 percent. The James Spader-led show is the top new show for the season and No. 2 overall drama.

Overall, NBC was much improved most nights of the week, with the exception of Thursday and Sundays, where the peacock continues to struggle.
