One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik have found themselves in a controversy many other celebrities have been in before – they’ve been caught smoking marijuana on video.
In footage released by Daily Mail 22-year-old Tomlinson narrates the video that also features 21-year-old Malik.
“So here we are, leaving Peru. Joint lit. Happy days!” he’s heard saying. “What do you think about that kind of content?” to which Malik replies, “Very controversial.”
The bandmates had just wrapped up a show in Lima’s Estadio Nacional with Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Niall Horan, all 20, who are not in the car.
They reference smoking various times in the 5-minute video, with a member of their security team even asking, “Are we allowed to talk contraband in this?” and Tomlinson replied, “Yes, that's what it is about.”
Shortly after the video was released, Zayn and Louis and #CutForZouis started trending on Twitter. The latter encourages fans to cut themselves, which many noted was a very serious matter and nothing to take lightly.
This is not even one bit funny. Self harm is real and it nothing to make a joke about. This makes me sick. #cutforzouis
