Pamela Anderson reveals that she was sexually assaulted as a child, and how it led her not to trust anyone.
MTV reports that at the Pamela Anderson Foundation launch event, Anderson revealed her past of sexual abuse, and how she could only count on animals and nature to be her true friends.
Anderson opened up about being molested by her female babysitter at age 6, and raped by her friend's 24-year-old brother at 12. She also shared that her first boyfriend organized a gang rape.
Anderson explained that her parents were never there for her; her mother worked two jobs, and her father was an alcoholic. So she could only trust the animals around her.
"I prayed to the whales with my feet in the ocean, my only real friends until I had children," Anderson said.
According to Mirror, The Pamela Anderson Foundation "supports organisations and individuals on the front lines protecting the environment, animal rights and human rights."
Anderson admitted that the animals helped her deal with the traumas in her life, and that is why she dedicates her life to helping them by launching her own charity.
"My loyalty was with the animal kingdom and I vowed to protect them and only them."
