Philadelphia 76ers player Michael Carter-Williams will receive the NBA Rookie of the Year honor.
NJ.com reports how a NBA source claims that Carter-Williams will receive the honor of NBA Rookie of the Year. The honor will be announced next week. Carter-Williams, who came from Syracuse University was awarded the Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month four out of the six months it was given this season. During the NBA Draft last year, Carter-Williams was drafted as the 11th overall pick.
ESPN reports how Carter-Wiilliams averaged 16.7 points, 6.3 assists, and 6.2 rebounds in his rookie season. Carter-Williams' successful rookie season was the only good thing to happen to the Philadelphia 76ers this year. The team finished the season with a horrible record of going 19-63.
The Washington Post reported back in March how the Philadelphia 76ers had tied the NBA record for the most consecutive losses. The 76ers tied with the 2010-2011 Cleveland Cavaliers team with 26 consecutive losses. During that time NBA Adam Silver said that the 76ers losing streak was “bad for everyone".
