On a night full of jokes often aimed at politics and media, President Barack Obama had some zingers at others and himself.
Obama took the stage quite late on the night, allowing others to get their jokes in first and even after, according to Boston.com. Vice President Joe Biden got in on the action and had a video where he and Julia Louis-Dreyfus in her Veep persona get tattoos at the White House.
When Obama took to the stage, he opened noting, "I usually start these dinners with a few self-deprecating jokes, but after my stellar 2013, what could I talk about?" He then added, "I admit it, last year was rough. Sheesh. At one point things got so bad, the 47 percent called Mitt Romney to apologize."
He roasted CNN for their over-coverage of the missing Malaysia Airlines flight and congratulated the first American, Meb Keflezighi, to win the Boston Marathon in over 20 years.
The event was hosted by Community star Joel McHale who took aim at everyone with light roasting, poking fun at current events like Cliven Bundy and even dipping into pop culture like the Kardashian family due to their Republican leanings, reports The Associated Press. He also made sure to tease CSPAN and CNN as he looked to crank out as many jokes as possible.
At the time of this article, McHale is still speaking.
