The San Antonio Spurs dominated the Oklahoma City Thunder in game five of the Western Conference Finals and prevailed 117-89.
The two teams were tied at 32 after the first quarter, but the three remaining quarters were not so close. The Spurs outscored the Thunder by 10 points in both the second and third quarters and scored eight more than OKC in the fourth.
San Antonio made 51.3 percent of their shots from the floor and connected on half of their 3-point attempts (13-of-26). Oklahoma City managed to make 43.2 percent of their field goals and only a quarter of their shots from long range (6-of-24).
Six Spurs were in double figures. Power forward Tim Duncan recorded team-highs in points and rebounds with 22 points and 12 rebounds. Shooting guard Manu Ginobili netted 19 points and dished out six assists in 21 minutes.
Small forward Kawhi Leonard and shooting guard Danny Green each poured in 14 points. Power forward Boris Diaw netted 13 points, and point guard Tony Parker added 12.
The Thunder were led by their two stars. Small forward Kevin Durant scored 25 points and point guard Russell Westbrook netted 21, according to ESPN.
“They’re going to be upset; they’re great competitors,” Ginobili said in his postgame press conference on nba.com. “They are very talented, stronger, faster, taller than us. So we are going to have to again play a very, very smart game.”
The Spurs have won the three games at home by a total of 80 points. They can close the series out in Oklahoma City on Saturday night.
