The Discovery Channel’s Shark Week is missing one thing. Actually, a few things, like a Sharktopus, a Mecha Shark, a Pteracuda and - the worst thing ever - a SharkNado. To make up for that, SyFy is launching Sharknado Week, revolving around the premiere of the sequel to the first Sharknado film.
The network announced Sharknado Week on Tuesday, announcing the highlights of the week, which will run from Saturday, July 26 to Sunday, Aug. 2.
The shark attacks start on July 26 at 9 p.m. with Mega Shark vs. Mecha Shark, which stars Christopher Judge. Elisabeth Rohm, who had a great small role in American Hustle, follows that performance with an appearance in this film. It was produced by The Asylum.
Sharkmania: The Top 15 Biggest Baddert Bloodiest Bites airs the following night and comes from Associated Television International. This is the ultimate shark clip show, featuring contributions from fictional shark attack survivors.
The marquee event of the week is on Wednesday, July 30 at 9 p.m., when Sharknado 2: The Second One premieres. This Asylum production brings back Sharknado stars Ian Ziering and Tara Reid, along with several New York-based celebrities who can’t escape the attacking sharks.
Sharknado Week sadly comes to an end on Aug. 2 at 9 p.m. with Roger Corman’s Sharktopus vs. Pteracuda. Robert Carradine stars in this one from New Horizons Pictures.
