The Dream has been arrested after allegedly physically attacking his ex-girlfriend, Lydia Nam, last year while she was pregnant with his baby.
The producer turned himself in on Wednesday and was booked on two felony charges – assault and strangulation – and three misdemeanors - assault, reckless endangerment, and child endangerment.
According to TMZ, the alleged assault took place in April 2003 and Nam didn’t report it to police until 8 months later. She has since given birth to the former couple’s son.
The Dream, real name Terius Nash, is being accused of kicking, punching and strangling Nam when she was six months pregnant.
Sources told TMZ that the producer believes Nam is lying to extend her U.S. visa, as she’s from Canada.
Daily Mail reports in addition to his son with Nam, he has a daughter with ex-wife Christina Milian and three children with another ex-wife, Nivea.
The Dream has worked with such celebrities as Britney Spears and Rihanna, even creating the hit song “Umbrella.”
