After a full season full of action, heartbreak, and laughter, NCIS is ending its 11th season with a tribute to actor Ralph Waite, who played Jackson Gibbs, the father of Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs. We have seen many moments during this season that brought the team of investigators closer together.
With the departure of Cote de Pablo at the beginning of the season, it left many wondering if the team’s magic would be able to continue without Ziva David there to banter with Tony DiNozzo and share friendly moments with Tim McGee and Abby Sciuto.
We were introduced to NSA Analyst Eleanor Bishop, who’s interesting and quirky ways of doing her work intrigued viewers, including her new teammates at NCIS. Tim’s girlfriend, Delilah, was paralyzed due to a terrorist attack, and Jimmy Palmer experienced the highs and lows as he and his wife attempted to become parents.
Through it all, we have seen so many great moments between the team that it is so hard to choose just one. These are just some of the amazing moments that have made us laugh and feel for the characters as they went through life’s ups and downs.
As we say goodbye to Ralph Waite, and Jackson Gibbs, with tonight’s episode, we look back on the amazing moments of season 11 of NCIS. What did you like best about this season? Tell us in the comments!

10. Meet Ellie
Bishop’s first appearance on NCIS came after the Secretary of the Navy was bugged. An NSA report written by Bishop had predicted such an event and Gibbs and Tony go to discuss this with her. She ends up helping them on the case, and we later find out she had actually applied to work for NCIS. The clip below shows her first interaction with Gibbs and Tony.

What could be worse than having your ex-wife, Diane, part of your investigation again? How about her ex-husband, Fornell, being involved in an affair with her, while she is also having an affair with the suspect in your murder case? That’s enough to give me a headache, so I imagine Gibbs needed plenty of coffee during this case! Plus, add on to the frustrated daughter of Diane and Fornell, and this makes for a funny scene where she confronts her parents over their affair. Then Abby comes in and adds to even more hilarity and awkwardness.

8. Undercover McGee
In a touching episode that spoke about homelessness, the team was looking for a homeless veteran who had come into contact with a murder victim in their case. After the homeless, who refused to speak to them, had already seen Tony and Ellie they decided someone else needed to go undercover. Enter McGee, who has been unable to shave due to a skin irritation. This scene below shows Tim in a wig, covered in dirt, and then, if that isn’t enough, he’s doused in a combination of cat urine and body odor. Tony must have been in seventh heaven.

7. Save Ellie
Several episodes touched on the search for Benham Parsa, the terrorist responsible for paralyzing Delilah, and whom Ellie had been searching for before she came to NCIS. In the final episode where he is captured, Ellie is left alone at one point to interrogate him. Unfortunately, he ends up taking her hostage and Gibbs must figure out a way to save her.

In an episode of NCIS, Jimmy and Ducky went undercover as a nurse and a doctor, respectively, in order to retrieve information on a laptop to find out who was accessing confidential information. In order to do this, they had to sneak into the suspect’s hospital room to obtain the laptop. However, getting his daughter out of the room was just part of the process.

One of the most heartbreaking storylines of this season was Palmer’s journey to fatherhood. He and his wife, Breena, were planning to adopt a woman’s baby, but when the baby was born, she changed her mind. This episode saw Jimmy struggling to deal with his emotions, and whether he would ever be a father. A touching scene between Gibbs and Jimmy occurs, which makes Jimmy decide to keep fighting to be a parent. The video below showcases Jimmy’s battle in this episode with some music in the background to set the mood.

3. McGee and Delilah
In this scene set after the terrorist attack by Benham Parsa, McGee rushes to the hospital to see his girlfriend, who was injured severely in the bombing. This is before they find out she’s paralyzed, but her main concern is whether Tim has gotten Parsa, even as he worries over her.
[new page= Goodbye]
2. Goodbye
During the first two episodes of the season, we saw the team separated, with Tony going to find Ziva, who is in danger. When he finds her, she is feeling conflicted over things that have happened since her father was killed. She wants to go away so she can figure things out and not become the person she was before she met everyone at NCIS. In a touching scene that fans were waiting for since season three, Ziva and Tony share a kiss.

In last week’s episode, Tony went overseas to retrieve the daughter of an admiral. During this time, he relied on the game, Symbolese, to converse with his team when he didn’t have access to a phone. At the end of the episode, Tony is back at the office, where he greets Palmer, who is distracted by a message from his wife on the game. Tony gently coaxes Palmer into understanding the message, which is something Palmer has wanted to hear all season long.
