After the NFL Draft and the signing of countless free agents over the course of the off-season, every fan likes to think their team has developed into a super bowl caliber team. Many teams will be looking for revenge in their respective division, hoping to shake up the standing this upcoming season, However, there is one ultimate goal year in and year out – winning the super bowl.
The 2014 NFL season is set to begin on Sept. 4, 2014. It will be the 49th season since the creation of the Super Bowl in 1967. Now for owners, this may seem like a business, but for players and coaches, this is their chance at redemption.
Lovie Smith, longtime coach of the Chicago Bears is back this year with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after a full season out of the NFL. He will be looking for redemption.
Any player last season that went down early, or late with an injury will be seeking a comeback. Every rookie out there is going to try and make a statement.
Year in and year out there are countless people trying to make an impact, but there nothing is sweeter than making the playoffs and winning the Super Bowl and most importantly proving that you’re the best.

With Aaron Rodgers at the helm anything is possible in the passing game. He will be just as good as ever. Eddy Lacy will be further along in his development and could make a lot of noise this year.
The Packers are weak on defense but with the addition of Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, possibly the best safety in the draft, the big play will be harder to come by against their defense.

Andrew Luck is going to be a great quarterback for years to come, and the offense will not struggle scoring through the air. The big question mark on offense is Trent Richardson. After being traded to the Colts last season he has yet to make a big impact.
The Colts defense can be solid but is overall unreliable. Almost every game should be a shootout between their offense and their opponent’s.

Jamaal Charles is arguably the best RB in the NFL. Accompanied with Alex Smith who rarely turns the ball over the Chief’s offense won’t have much trouble scoring.
Their defense is strong, mainly in their secondary with Brandon Flowers and Eric Berry, and they are good at stopping the run game.

Peyton Manning will never cease to amaze but without Eric Decker the Broncos will not put up the offensive numbers they did last season. A lot of games this year will come down to defense, which is strong, but very vulnerable to the big play.
Losing Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie will prove to be more troublesome than most people think.

Andy Dalton is a gunslinger of a quarterback. He loves to stretch the field and has the WRs to do so. A.J. Green is one of the biggest downfield threats in the NFL.
Their defense let them down a lot last season and with the addition of Darqueze Dennard the Bengals filled a big hole in their secondary. If Dalton can minimize the turnovers, the Bengals will be a scary team for any defense to face.

The Cardinals have one of the best defensive units in the league. Patrick Peterson is an animal in the secondary and Tyrann Mathieu is looking like his honey badger days in from LSU.
The big question for the Cardinals is whether or not Carson Palmer will be as effective this season as he gets older. I think he will be. They’re biggest issue is making it out of the NFC West against teams like the 49ers and Seahawks.

The 49ers are a very defensive minded team. A big concern for them is how NaVorro Bowman will play coming off an ACL tear. With that said, their defense is one of the best without him.
As for their offense, Colin Kaepernick is a good quarterback and knows how to lead an offense but their wide receivers aren’t very spectacular. If they are going to make a super bowl push it will be because of their defense.

Drew Brees is one of the best QBs in the NFL today. Him and the Saints offense are known to throw the ball a lot and they usually succeed.
The defense on the other hand has been losing them games over the last few seasons but with the recent additions of Champ Bailey and Jairus Byrd their secondary just got really impressive. It will be hard to throw down the field on the Saints this year.

The Patriots are always a scary team to play because Tom Brady typically will find a way to win. However, much like the Saints, they never really had an elite offense.
This offseason they added Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner, two of the best cornerback in the game. Teams will find it hard to beat the Patriots through the air all year.

The Seahawks have the best defense in the NFL. As everyone saw in Super Bowl XLVIII, defense wins championships. While the Seahawks did lose Browner to the Patriots this off-season, they still have an elite player at almost every position on the defensive end of the ball.
Also having Marshawn Lynch and Russell Wilson on the offensive end of the ball doesn’t hurt. Between those two, scoring comes relatively easy to the Seahawks offense.
