Get ready, Doctor Who fans – the Tardis is landing on a TV screen near you in a few short weeks.

BBC America has finally revealed the season eight start date to anxious fans: Saturday, Aug. 23 at 8 p.m., reported Variety.

This season, the twelfth Doctor is played by actor Peter Capaldi. He is joined by companion Clara Oswald, portrayed by Jenna Coleman.

While most Doctors have been more youthful in the revival series, this season’s Doctor is 56 years old, according to the Los Angeles Times. With Capaldi at roughly the same age as William Hartnell, the actor who played the first Doctor in the original 1960s series, it remains to be seen whether or not this choice in Doctors is a conscious nod to the original series.

But fans don’t have to wait until August 23 to get a glimpse of the new cast. Capaldi and Coleman will be embarking on the first-ever Doctor Who World Tour Aug. 7. The tour kicks off in Cardiff, Wales, hits New York Aug. 14 and ends Aug. 19 in Rio de Janeiro. In between, the pair will also be stopping in London, Seoul, Sydney and Mexico City.
