Girl Meets World is finally here and Disney shares what they want for this new series. Disney channel has many different live-action shows to choose from. Their shows like Liv and Maddie, Dog with a Blog, and, Austin and Ally are loved by children, mainly young girls, but they are not popular enough to help Disney’s ratings. With the debut of Girl Meets World, a show following the 90’s television hit Boy Meets World, Disney is hoping for a raise in ratings.
Disney has always been able to attract young girls who are near their teens with shows like Lizzy McGuire and Hannah Montana. However, it’s possible that Girl Meets World may attract a different audience: those who miss Boy Meets World. While the Boy Meets World fans may tune into the new show, Girl Meets World can also appeal to other younger viewers too says CNN Entertainment. Another show of Disney’s that appealed to both adults and young teens was Good Luck Charlie according to The New York Times. This doesn’t happen often and Disney has high hopes for Girl Meets World. There is a possibility that fans of Boy Meets World will judge this new show too fast, losing the adult audience.
