Over the past ten days the sports world has witnessed Clayton Kershaw and Tim Lincecum both throw a no-hitter. As special as that was, the Atlanta Braves class A-Advanced affiliate, the Lynchburg Hillcats, have one upped them after their pitchers combined for no-hitters on Thursday and Friday both against the Wilmington Blue Rocks, Kansas City Royals affiliate.

Lucas Sims started for the Hillcats on Thursday and pitched seven no-hit innings in a 5-1 victory. He allowed one unearned run while striking out six and walking four according to CBSSports. Alex Wilson came out next. Over the last two innings he struck out three and walked two to finish off the first no-no.
Part two came on Friday when Cody Scarpetta dominated seven innings, striking out seven and walking only one in a 5-0 win. Benino Pruneda would come on to close out the last two innings in which his opposition was hitless.
With that said everything almost came crashing down in the ninth inning of game two with two outs. Jared Schlehber hit what would have been home run if it didn’t hook foul. The very next pitch Pruneda struck him out via Yahoo.
Tyler Tewell was behind the plate for both no-hitters.
"Honestly, every inning I went out there, I was thinking, 'Well that's 11 consecutive innings of no hits ... that's 12 ... '" Scarpetta said. "Every pitch, it's kind of in your head. But once I got out there, I was locked in and trying to make my pitches."
