“The Crocodile Hunter” Steve Irwin’s daughter Bindi is all grown up and advising young girls not rush to do the same.
The 15-year-old recently opened up in an interview with News Corp Australia about being an advocate for girls dressing their age.
“I mean, for me, I look around at a lot of young girls that are my age and they’re always trying to dress older.,” said Bindi. “Whether it’s wearing revealing clothes or hardly wearing any clothes at all, I feel really bad for them. It kind of has the opposite effect in some ways ... it kind of does the opposite where it makes you look younger and like you’re trying too hard.”
Bindi has been in the spotlight since she began appearing on television at the age of two, The Courier Mail reported and has been in movies such as Free Willy:Escape from Pirates Cove.
Bindi clearly wishes to be a positive role model to girls by pushing the issue of modesty while still remaining stylish. She told News Corp Australia,
“The way I choose to dress, I want to influence other people around me I suppose.”
Bindi has followed in her father’s footsteps as an animal activist, as well as an actress, singer and dancer, according to her website Totally Bindi. She will celebrate her 16th birthday at the Australia Zoo.
