The Chicago Blackhawks will play the Washington Capitals in the 2015 Winter Classic.
TSN hockey insider Bob McKenzie tweeted the news this morning.

McKenzie also reported that there was no set venue for the game, but the Nationals Park, home to the Washington Nationals, was the front-runner.
This will be the second time both the Capitals and Blackhawks have played in a Winter Classic after Washington play the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2011, while the Blackhawks hosted the Detroit Red Wings in 2009, according to The Canadian Press.
This is the seventh time that the Winter Classic has been played, according to TSN. The event started in 2009 and has been played each year since, except for 2013 when there was an NHL lockout.
In addition, Rogers Sportsnet analyst, John Shannon, reported that there would only be two outdoor games next year, compared to the six that the NHL had during the 2013-2014 season.
Expect the NHL to have only 2 outdoor games during the 2014-15 NHL Regular season. We know 1 is in DC.

The second game is reportedly to be played in the San Francisco area and the San Jose Sharks would be the home team.
The NHL schedule will be released this weekend.
