In April Bryce Harper received surgery for a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his left thumb. Today he plans on rehabbing that thumb with PlayStation 4.
Something Harper is very animate about is not rushing back and risking another, more serious injury. He has no timetable – He simply will rehab until he feels 100% and will return no sooner.
“He’s still not able to catch balls because of that left thumb, still not able to hit, just kind of going through range-of-motion exercises and he’s going to start using some PlayStation to work that thumb back into gear as he tries to make progress.” MASN’s Dan Kolko reported via WashingtonPost.
Over the years, video games have been said to be a distraction for today’s youth – kids play video games way too much. Now everyone will be watching Harper to see how effective his plan of rehab will be.
Currently without a times table, most people will be picturing Harper laying around all day playing video games, but that is not the case. There is a lot of stuff that he will have to do to get back on the field as quickly as possible, but he has made it clear that there is no need to rush according to Yahoo.
