Radio and television personality, Casey Kasem, was moved to an end-of-life hospice care, while a debate continued about whether it was legal to administer food and liquids to Kasem.

The radio personality’s daughter, Kerri Kasem, implemented end-of-life measures on June 6. He was in a Washington state hospital. The judge is currently allowing water and food. On June 11, a judge ordered that the daughter could withhold medication, food, and fluids from the ailing announcer. He had been suffering from dementia, according to CNN.

On Wednesday, attorney Troy Martin said that Superior Court Judge Daniel Murphy ruled that giving Kasem food and fluids “would be harmful and cause more pain for the 82-year-old radio personality,” according to the Associated Press.

Kasem is known as a voice of radio and television. He is also a retired musician, actor, and producer. He was the host of the popular music radio programs American Top 40 and the American Top 20. In addition to the radio shows, Kasem provided the voice of commercials. He was also in the films, Ghostbusters, Battle of the Planets, and What’s New, Scooby-Doo?. Kasem was inducted into the National Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame radio division in 1985.

Kasem was born Kemal Amin Kasem on April 27, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan. Kasem's children and family members prepared to say goodbye at St. Anthony's Hospital.
