Rapper Macklemore and actress Zoe Saldana are celebrating their birthdays today.

Rapper Macklemore turns 31 today. Born Ben Haggerty, Macklemore collaborates with producer Ryan Lewis. Macklemore and Lewis's single "Thrift Shop" reached No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart in 2013, marking it the first time since 1994 that a song reached No. 1 on the Hot 100 chart without being a part of a major record label. Their second single, "Can't Hold Us" also peaked at No. 1 on the Hot 100 Chart, making Macklemore and Lewis the first duo in the chart's history to have their first two singles both reach number 1.

Macklemore and Lewis released their debut studio album The Heist on October 9, 2012. The album peaked at No. 2 on the US Billboard 200 chart. The pair was nominated for seven Grammy awards at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards, winning four awards for Best New Artist, Best Rap Album, Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance.

Macklemore is engaged to his girlfriend of seven years, Tricia Davis. Macklemore and Lewis are currently working on their next album.

Zoe Saldana, 36

Actress Zoe Saldana turns 36 today. Saldana first gained attention in an episode of Law & Order in 1999. She made her film debut in Center Stage. She left school and went on to appear in Crossroads alongside Britney Spears, and the comedy-drama Drumline alongside Nick Cannon. She also went on to appear in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, The Terminal, Haven, Temptation and Guess Who.

Saldana played Uhura in the film reboots of Star Trek, and the alien huntress Neytiri in the James Cameron blockbuster Avatar. After gaining great critical responses from those two films, she went on to star in The Losers, Takers, Death at a Funeral and Burning Palms. Saldana earned the lead role in Colombiana, and starred in the romantic drama The Words.

Saldana married Italian artist Marco Perego in June 2013. In May 2014, Saldana starred in a TV miniseries adaptation of Rosemary's Baby. She will play Gamora in the 2014 film Guardians of the Galaxy, and will reprise the role of Neytiri in Avatar 2 in 2015.
