Actors Nicole Kidman and Christopher Mintz-Plasse are celebrating their birthdays today.

Actress, singer and film producer Nicole Kidman turns 47 today. Kidman's breakthrough film role was in Dead Calm (1989). She went on to appear in several films in the early 1990s, gaining worldwide recognition for her performances in Days of Thunder, Far and Away and Batman Forever. Her role in Billy Bathgate earned her a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Her performance in the musical Moulin Rouge! earned her a second Golden Globe Award and first Academy Award nomination for Best Actress. Her performance as Virginia Woolf in the film The Hours also received critical acclaim and earned Kidman the Academy Award for Best Actress.

Kidman's other notable films include To Die For, Eyes Wide Shut, The Others, Cold Mountain, The Interpreter and Australia. She earned Golden Globe nominations for best actress and supporting actress for her roles in Birth and The Paperboy respectively. Her performance in Rabbit Hole, in which ske also produced, earned her a third Academy Award nomination for Best Actress. In 2012, she earned her first Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie for her role in Hemingway & Gellhorn. Kidman has been a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF since 1994, and for UNIFEM since 2006. In 2006, Kidman was made a Companion of the Order of Australia, and was also the highest-paid actress in the motion picture industry.

Kidman is currently married to country singer Keith Urban. She has an adopted son and daughter with her former husband Tom Cruise, as well as two biological daughters with Urban.

Christopher Mintz-Plasse, 25

Actor Christopher Mintz-Plasse turns 25 today. Mintz-Plasse made his film debut as Fogell in Superbad. He next appeared alongside Paul Rudd and Seann William Scott in Role Models. Mintz-Plasse voiced Fishlegs in the Academy Award nominated animated film How to Train Your Dragon. In April 2010, he appeared in Kick-Ass as the superhero Red Mist. His performance earned him a Teen Choice Award and Scream Award nomination. In May 2010, he guest-starred in an episode of Party Down. He performed his second voice-over in that month in the film Marmaduke, as the stylized dog Giuseppe. The same year he was featured in two music videos, Kid Cudi's "Erase Me," featuring Kanye West and the indie rock band The Soft Pack's "Answer to Yourself."

Mintz-Plasse appeared in the remake of the 1985 film Fright Night, and went on to lend his voice to the stop motion film, ParaNorman, and also starred in Pitch Perfect, DreamWorks Dragons on Cartoon Network, Kick-Ass 2, This Is the End and The To Do List.

Mintz-Plasse reprised his role as Fishlegs in How to Train Your Dragon 2, in theaters now.
