A Chinese company is unhappy with the current placement deal that they had with Paramount Pictures. Michael Bay's movie Transformers: Age of Extinction is set to release in a week, and Beijing Pangu Investment Co. demands that there be changes made to the film.
According to the The Wall Street Journal, the Chinese company owns a renowned hotel, office and a mall complex in Beijing. The company ended sponsoring the movie on June 15, and is currently filing a lawsuit against Paramount Pictures including some local cooperations for failing the code of conduct.
According to The New York Times, the Pangu company was a commercial sponsor of the movie and filed court charges demanding Paramount Pictures to remove scenes that depict their logo as well as their properties.
Paramount expects to make big profits from the Chinese Box office. The fourth installment of the Transformers franchise cost them over $200 million to produce. The film is set to release in theaters on June 27, 2014.
