Chris Brown’s constant troubles with the law feel like the latest installments of a television show, but they’re not. BET is reportedly looking to change that, considering a reality series on the troubled music star.
Several unnamed sources close to BET told TMZ that the network has already done a focus group poll to see if there would be any interest in such a show. The group was made up of African-American women, who were mostly split on the idea, the site claims. They were asked if they were interested in seeing a show in which Brown tries to stay out of trouble.
Of course, the show would actually need Brown to sign off on the idea, but he has not done so yet. Several production companies have been after him.
According to Rolling Stone, BET has not commented on the report.
Brown was released from prison earlier this month after serving three weeks. He has also admitted to being involved in a Washington DC altercation in October 2013. Earlier this week, his attorneys and prosecutors were not able to reach a plea deal in that case.
Brown remains on probation for his 2009 beating of Rihanna.
