Singer Chris Brown has been released from Los Angeles County Jail early Monday morning, just months into his one-year prison sentence for violating his probation.
Brown’s release was first reported by TMZ. He was sentenced in May to a year in jail, but he was given credit for the 116 days spent in rehab, plus 59 days in prison. In total, Brown has served 108 days in prison.
The singer received the sentence after a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge found that he had violated his probation from his 2009 attack of singer and then-girlfriend Rihanna. According to the Los Angeles Times, Brown did admit to being arrested for assault in Washington D.C. in October 2013.
The judge extended Brown’s probation from the date he is released from jail to Jan. 23, 2015. He also has to see a psychiatrist twice a week and has to complete community service hours.
Brown is still facing charges for that Washington assault. The trial is expected to start in a few months.
