There have been two no-hitters posted thus far in the 2014 MLB season. Both pitchers have been members of the Los Angeles Dodgers. The most recent one happened on Wednesday night by Clayton Kershaw.

Less than a month ago Josh Beckett threw the first no-hitter of his career against the Philadelphia Phillies, the first of the season for any player. His teammate, Kershaw, threw joined Beckett Wednesday night throwing the first of his career against the Colorado Rockies. Interestingly enough, each no-hitter was caught by a different catcher – Drew Butera for Beckett and A.J. Ellis for Kershaw.

Not only did Kershaw throw a no-no, but he simply dominated the Rockies. He struck out a career-high 15 batters and allowed one base runner on a throwing error by shortstop Hanley Ramirez according to WashingPost. His resume now includes two Cy Young awards, three straight major league ERA titles, a 20 win season and a no-hitter.

Two things remain on his checklist – a perfect game and a World Series ring.

"I'll remember this for the rest of my life," Kershaw said via LATimes. For the first time in Dodgers history they have recorded two no-hitters in the same season.

"I was tearing up in the ninth inning," A.J. Ellis said. "To do it with my best friend on the mound means the world."

It only makes it more impressive that Kershaw did it against a high powered Colorado Rockies team who is ranked as the second most efficient offense in the major leagues right now via OddsShark.
