A West Village couple is suing Philip Seymour Hoffman’s estate. The lawsuit was filed after the couples 1 Sheridan Square apartment was flooded because of an alleged leak in Hoffman's $1.4 million penthouse above them.

New York Post added that the couple, Gene Hoffnagel and Anna Erdelyi, who lived below Hoffman was forced to leave their home for 11 months in 2011 after they came home from a vacation to find that their apartment was flooded.

The suit claims that their living space sustained "structural damage." The damage to their condo ended up being worth over $87,000 in damage, according to New York Daily News.

The lawsuit expresses that the couple has no ill will toward Hoffman but the money will help to the couple off set their out-of-pocket costs for having to fix the condo to be like it was before the flood took place.

Hoffman owned his $1.4 million penthouse with longtime girlfriend Mimi O’Donnell. O'Donnell is also the mother of his three children and she resides as executor of his will.
