Yu Darvish (8-4) and the Texas Rangers (37-43) had a commanding 5-0 victory over the Minnesota Twins (36-43).

Darvish blanked the Twins, allowing four hits and struck out 10 over eight innings. The Rangers lead the AL with14 shutouts this season, six of which had Yu Darvish on the bump, according to The Dallas Morning News

The Rangers won their second game in a row, after a string of eight losses.

Darvish has now struck out 10 or more batters in five of his 15 starts, raising his career total to 25 double-digit strikeout games according to MLB.com

Twins pitcher Phil Hughes (8-4) gave up five runs and 11 hits in 7.2 innings. Trailing 2-0 with the bases loaded Ranger rookie Luis Sardinas pinch his for DH Donnie Murphy. Sardinas executed a squeeze bunt scoring Elvis Andrus from third. The following batter, Leonys Martin, hit a two RBI double off Hughes.
Only three Twins batters had a hit; outfielder Chris Parmelee lead the team with two.
