Dina Lohan, the mother of troubled actress Lindsay Lohan, has problems of her own. She was in a Long Island courtroom today for her DWI case. The judge was not happy with Lohan, scolding her and telling her she was luck she hasn’t killed anyone.
Judge Andrew Engel suspended Lohan’s driver’s license for a year, notes The New York Daily News. She was also ordered to attend a drunk driving program and a victim impact panel be November. In addition, she has to pay $3,085 in fines and will have a new device put in her car to prevent her from driving while drunk.
Lohan was last in court in April, when she pleaded guilty to the DWI charge. At the time, she was ordered to do 100 hours of community service and had to prove to the judge today that she had done so.
During today’s hearing, attorney Mark Heller said that this was an isolated incident for Lohan, but Engle had none of that.
"The only person responsible for this ordeal is Miss Lohan,” Engel said, reports TMZ. “She is just lucky nobody was killed. She may not be as lucky next time.”
When Lohan was arrested for DWI back in September, police found that her blood alcohol level was twice the legal limit.
