Fans all over the world are eagerly awaiting the release of the film adaption of E.L. James’ erotic romance novel, Fifty Shades of Grey. However, Don Johnson is not one of them.

Johnson’s daughter, Dakota, plays the main female protagonist in the controversial film. Anastasia Steele is a young and sexually inexperienced college student who bumps into Christian Grey, a complicated business mogul, by chance. Johnson is understandably less than eager to watch his daughter step into the role and explore the world of BDSM.

In a recent interview with The Telegraph, the 64-year-old actor explained why he won’t be checking out his daughter’s work. “I probably will not see it just because it’s not a movie I would see. I’ve never seen The Vampire Diaries, I’ve never seen Twilight. It’s in a category of films that I just wouldn’t be interested in."

Apparently his reasoning has little to do with the sexual content of the film, as he said, “It’s not something I would go to anyway.”

Fifty Shades of Grey is the first major role for Dakota Johnson, who has had small parts in 21 Jump Street and The Social Network. The film’s first promotional still was released this Wednesday in honor of the fictional Christian Grey’s birthday.
