Spiderman stars Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield used the paparazzi to send a positive message to fans all over the globe in New York City earlier today. While most stars use the photogs to stir up controversy or revive their public image, Stone and Garfield did something a little more heartfelt.
According to E! News, the actors were snapped walking down a Manhattan street today after eating breakfast at a small café. Rather than ignoring the attention and going about their day together like a typical celebrity power couple, the two scribbled out messages on notecards and held them up in front of their faces.
Emma’s card said, "Good morning! We were eating and saw a group of guys with cameras outside. And so we thought, let's try this again. We don't need the attention, but these wonderful organizations do: —>" She held hers up next to Andrew’s and the arrow pointed to his card.
Garfield’s sign read, “Here’s to the stuff that matters. Have a great day,” along with a list of causes to which the couple hoped to bring attention.
Garfield and Stone did something similar in 2012, promoting a list of different charities.
The actors are proponents of organizations supporting autism research and youth mentoring programs.
It’s refreshing to see celebrities using their fame as a platform for the things that really matter. You can check out the organizations listed on Andrew’s card here:
