Josh Trank, the director of the acclaimed Chronicle and the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot, has been hired to direct a second Star Wars spin-off film. His project is in such early stages that a release date has not been set yet.

“We're thrilled to welcome Josh into the family,” Lucasfilm presidnet Kathleen Kennedy said in a statement posted at Star Wars.com. “He is such an incredible talent and has a great imagination and sense of innovation. That makes him perfectly suited to Star Wars, and for this new slate of movies that reach beyond the core characters and storylines of Episodes I through IX.”

Trank added that his childhood was defined by Star Wars and called the opportunity to add to the mythos the “most incredible dream of all time.”

Lucasfilm and Disney did not say what will be the subject of Trank’s film and also did not set a release date. Trank is currently busy working on 20th Century Fox’s Fantastic Four reboot, which is scheduled to open on June 16, 2015. There’s also a sequel planned for 2017, but there’s no word on if Trank can make that film as well.

Trank is the second director hired to make a Star Wars spin-off film. Godzilla helmer Gareth Edwards was hired last month to make a film that will be released on Dec. 16, 2016.

J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: Episode VII will open on Dec. 18, 2015. The director tweeted that the Millennium Falcon will be in the movie and asked for the on-set photo leaks to stop.
