Shailene Woodley has been quite busy this year, starring in blockbuster films like Divergent and The Fault In Our Stars, but there came a point in the actress’ life where she considered leaving the entertainment biz.

In a recent issue of Vanity Fair, the 22-year-old starlet opened up about her career-related insecurities, US Weekly reports. Woodley admitted that her self-esteem hit a low point after she filmed scenes for The Amazing Spider Man 2 and then learned she wouldn’t be included in the final cut. Woodley starred opposite leading man Andrew Garfield as his character’s love interest.

“For a few hours it was literally like ‘Oh, my God, was I awful? Why did they cut me? What are people going to think?,” Page Six notes, quoting Woodley’s interview with Vanity Fair. And while Woodley initially felt very confused and upset, she quickly managed to pull herself together. The site quotes Woodley further, expressing her decision to trust that “everything happens for a reason,” and all would be “okay.”

Woodley’s experience made her briefly consider giving up acting, though, in the end, she realized she shouldn’t worry about other people’s opinions of her, the New York Daily News states, also pulling out snippets of her interview with Vanity Fair.

Woodley’s next flick, White Bird In A Blizzard hits theaters on October 24, Yahoo reports. It premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year.

Woodley’s current box office smash, The Fault In Our Stars earned $48.2 million in the U.S. alone during its opening weekend in theaters, Rumor Fix confirms.
