According to multiple reports, undefeated boxing sensation Floyd Mayweather Jr. is the highest paid athlete in 2014. Not only is he the highest paid athlete in the country, but he is the highest paid athlete in the world. It is only fitting his nickname is Money Mayweather, and that he calls his entourage The Money Team.

For a 72-minute fight in his last battle in the ring, he made $105 million. It is the second time in three years Mayweather Jr. has taken the top spot for the highest paid athlete in the world, reported by Forbes.
With Mayweather Jr. earning in the $100 million threshold, he is the only athlete to make that amount of money on an inflation adjusted basis besides Tiger Woods, Michael Schumacher, Mike Tyson, and Michael Jordan. Since he became a pro boxer in 1996, he has earned over $400 million in his career, according to the Los Angeles Times.
He is as flashy as they come in and outside the ring but you cannot argue his success. His paper-views draw the most money for boxing and he is keeping the sport alive. In 2007 when he beat Oscar De La Hoya it was the most watched fight in the history of boxing pay-per-view events. Since that point in time he has banked at least $25 million in his past nine bouts, acknowledged by the Los Angeles Times.
