Echoing the wishes of fans everywhere, George R.R. Martin, author of the A Song of Ice and Fire , the book series the show Game of Thrones is based on, wishes that the hit television show could have a few more episodes per season.
A season of Game of Thrones currently has 10 hour long episodes, filled to the brim with the violence and sex involved in the fight for the Iron Throne. With so much happening each episode, it is no wonder that Martin thinks the show might benefit from a few extra episodes.

“I’d love to have 13 episodes,” Martin stated in an interview with The New York Times. “With 13 episodes, we could include smaller scenes that we had to cut, scenes that make the story deeper and richer.” With such a short time block to work with, subplots and relationships seen in the original novels cannot be fully explored, in order to make sure audiences are not confused.

Still, the breakneck plot pace seems to be working for the show, with Game of Thrones recently breaking records as the most watched HBO show ever as reported by TheCelebrityCafe.com.Changing a formula that has created so much success for a franchise such as this is hard to imagine.
