Lyricist Gerry Goffin was found dead in his home in Los Angeles at age 75. He died of natural causes.

Goffin was married to Carole King in 1959. Together, they wrote more than 50 top hits, including "Crying in the Rain" by the Everly Brothers, “Some King of Wonderful” for the Drifters and "Take Good Care of My Baby" by Bobby Vee. King posted to her Twitter account that there are no words to describe her ex-husband.

Goffin continued to write after he divorced King in 1968. As his career continued, he created more hit songs. He penned “Savin’ All My Love for You,” for singer Whitney Houston. He also wrote the songs, “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow,” “The Loco-Motion,” and “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman.”

Louise Goffin, one of his daughters, said her father "wore his heart on his sleeve, and I am deeply blessed to have had a father who could so easily make the world laugh and cry with just a spiral notebook and a pen," according to the Associated Press.

Goffin’s current wife, Michele Goffin reported his death.
