The cast for NBC's Aquarius is beginning to fill out as the network announced the casting of Game of Thrones' actor Gethin Anthony in a lead role opposite David Duchovny.

Anthony will play Charles Manson in the event series, set in the 1960s, according to a rep who spoke with TVLine. Grey Damon (Friday Night Lights) and Emma Dumont (Bunheads) also were cast.

Dumont will play a young woman entranced by Mansion, who is seeking to grow his cult, that goes missing, while Damon is Duchovny's new partner. The X-Files alum was cast first to play Det. Hodiak who is investigating Manson.

As previously reported, while investigating Manson, who is merely a small-time crook at the time, Hodiak and his partner go undercover to find out what Manson is up to.

In addition to starring in the 13-episode series, Duchovny will executive produce, alongside Melanie Greene, Marty Adelstein and John McNamara.

"Event series are a big priority for us," NBC Entertainment president Jennifer Salke said back in March. "And the combination of a show that charts the lead-up to the Manson murders with a television star of the magnitude of David Duchovny, is the very definition of an event."
