Back in May, NBC announced that they will be cancelling the community college based show, Community. However, fans heard news that the show could be saved by Hulu. Is there still hope of Hulu buying the show? Recent reports say no but that may not be the case.
There were rumors that a sixth season of the show would be filmed and added exclusively to Hulu. Sadly, Hulu has turned down the rumors saying they will not be adding the show to their streaming service according to The Huffington Post. Sony pictures, however, is still holding onto the fact that Hulu can save them. The studio will fight for their show till June 30 and see if they can convince Hulu to save them.
Turns out that Hulu may not be the show’s only option. While Hulu was interested in buying the show, there was an undisclosed buyer that has talked to Sony as well says Entertainment Weekly. Hulu may not be out of the race to claim the show and there could be other buyers in play. Sony is working hard to save the show but only has so much time till the actor’s contracts run out.
