J.K. Rowling is back as Robert Galbraith with the sequel to The Cuckoo’s Calling titled The Silkworn. Rowling, who writes under the pseudonym Galbraith due to her original plan to write without the constant pressure and oversee of the literary world that was then foiled last year following the first novels publication, is excited to bring back her characters for another volume.

The first novel even went on to become a No.1 best seller on USA Today’s list. And now the site has an exclusive first look with an excerpt from the upcoming novel. Fans can read chapters one and two in advance before picking up their own copy next month.

For those who may not have the time to sit down and commit just yet, Time went ahead and made a quick list of the three things learned from the excerpt: characters Robin Ellacott and Cormoran Strike are as tight as ever, Rowling is still angry about the phone-hacking scandal and Strike is still down on his luck.

In regards to the phone-hacking scandal, the author has spoken out before against the invasive tactics, which leads to it being mentioned in the novel.
