The New York Jets have waived running back Mike Goodson after he did not show up for the team’s mandatory minicamp Tuesday.
The team announced the decision on twitter:
We have released RB Mike Goodson with the designation left squad.

When head coach Rex Ryan was asked where Goodson was he responded with, “That’s a good question. I don’t.” according to the New York Daily News.
Goodson was signed by the Jets last march to a three-year, $6.9 million deal, according to NFL.com.
Two months later he was arrest after he and a friend were found passed out in the middle of a major highway during the early morning. He was arrested for second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon after a .45-caliber handgun that was loaded was found with him. The NFL suspended Goodson for four games after this. He could face a 10-year sentence if he is found guilty.
When the Jets signed him, they new they were taking a risk. On his previous two teams, the Carolina Panthers and the Oakland Raiders, he had many encounters with the law, ESPN New York reports. He was sued by three women for child support from August 2010 to May 2011 and failed to pay a bill at a Houston-area jewelry store, which resulted in him being sued again.
Goodson played in only two games for the Jets last season after tearing his ACL and MCL in week six.
